Carved

The pieces in this collection are the kind of pots you would use every day. They are made of stoneware clay with added  grog - little pieces of fired clay that have been ground up and mixed into the stoneware I used to create these pots. 

The are carved in many different ways, including my three favourites: snowdrift (diagonal incisions), fluted (vertical carvings) and faceted (larger flat areas on a round pot). The carvings add a touch of decoration, make the pot lighter and add a tactile element to the surface of the cup.
