These pots were fired in special conditions, where the kiln's atmosphere plays a significant role in the final appearance of the pots, influencing colors, gloss and textures. This is achieved by introducing soda or salt into the kiln at high temperature, which then volatize and interact with the pottery in amazing and often unexpected ways.Â
